Echo Ridge 12/10/16

Good morning all,
We have 6-8" of new snow at Echo with temperatures 12-14 degrees
I packed the following trails with our 4' Tidd Tech to a width of 6-8'
Chickadee, Upsy Daisy, Nuthatch, Windsinger and Zippidy Do Da.
I'll go out tonight and continue flat packing
It's a pretty good corduroy surface after multiple passes
Stay tuned for further updates

Lake Wenatchee 12/10/16

A stunningly beautiful morning at Lake Wenatchee. Our first snow of the season has our phone ringing, so it must be time for grooming reports. You'll recognize the basic format below - updates / conditions on top and trail descriptions following.

First, some news and information as we set off on another season:
• The sled hill is closed until we get more snow. The first foot or so is used to create a protective berm over road-edge hazards.
• Our team of snowshoe trail volunteers, led by Lloyd Brodniak (30 years of volunteering on area winter rec trails!), have cleared logs, pruned, flagged, and installed route markers throughout all trails. We are really grateful for their ongoing effort.
• The SnoPark grant program (funded with your permits) has purchased a YTS Ginzu-groomer for our operation. This is a snowmobile-towed unit that is able to break up ice, cut and fill, and lay a nice single track. This, along with the new snowmobile and roller/compacter purchased two years ago completes our grooming package for low snow conditions. Perfect for early seasons or low snow years. We will be using this equipment this week as we await more snow.
• The fine folks at Weyerhaueuser (landowner on Nason Ridge) have provided us a lease to allow grooming up there (no motorized use allowed), beginning 12/15. Just in time! We will begin packing trails next week.

Leavenworth 12/12/16

The Ski Hill Tubing Hill is CLOSED today and will re-open for daily operations on December 17th - 9:30 AM-5:00 PM. The Icicle River Nordic Trail is OPEN Daily for X/C Skiing. There will NOT be a Classic Track set until we get more snow but still a good day to get out on the snow. The "Humps/Dunes" on the Meadow lack good coverage so use the 'bypass' routes. Early season conditions exist, be aware of low or thin spots on the trail. Stay tuned for updates on the status of our other venues as there is more snow in the forecast later in the week.
